Diabetes Patients And Carers
A typical usability test conducted with insulin pump users and their carers
Challenge: We do numerous usability studies with patients and caregivers, both professional and non-professional. This project is typical of the types of project we assist clients with. Our client was seeking to undertake usability testing with Insulin Pump using diabetes patients and their non-professional carers.
Process: The protocol required we completed 18 x 60 minute interviews at a central location with diabetes patients who use an insulin pump. In addition we were required to recruit n=5 Patients and carers for 90 minute in-home interviews.
Outcome: We had 2.5 weeks to recruit the project before fieldwork commenced and successfully recruited the 23 respondents for the project, all of whom met the inclusion criteria. We had just one no show from the entire sample, a 96% show rate, which is fairly typical of the response rate we achieve with this type of study.
Feedback: The project ran extremely smoothly, the client was very pleased with the types of patient recruited, the quality of the moderation project management. The feedback we received was “thanks for delivering the project so smoothly, it is always a pleasure to work with you (Medicys), the client is very happy with the results.”
